Here is an update from Gov. Abbot's last announcement:

"Texas is Reopening. What Does That Mean for Sugar Land Parks?

Sugar Land Parks and trails will remain open with some restrictions.

As outlined in Governor Abbott’s executive order GA-18, individuals may engage in outdoor sports, provided that the sports do not include contact with other participants, and no more than four participants play the sport at any time. That being said, amenities that will reopen are tennis courts and park benches not located near pavilions.

Playgrounds, pavilions, and basketball courts will remain closed as well as pools and splash pads.

Walking, jogging and non-contact sports are allowed in the parks."

We cannot wait until we are allowed to play again!  We look forward to seeing everyone on the fields again.  Hopefully, your cleats/boots don't look like mine!

We hope this communication finds you, your family and friends healthy and safe. We would like to start by acknowledging the medical heroes who are on the front line of COVID-19, many of whom are from our extended soccer family. To the soccer parents and fans who work in the medical profession, we speak with one voice in solemn thanks and respect for your efforts against this ominous virus.

Based on information received during the past couple of weeks from numerous sources including medical professionals, FBASA is extending the suspension of all games through June 14th, 2020. We will continue to re-evaluate the situation every week and we hope that the city can re-open the parks soon once again.

Our primary focus has been and remains the safety and welfare of our players, coaches, and referees. As importantly, we are concerned about the safety and well-being of our communities and seek to comply with medical directives on how best to stem the spread of the virus. This is not just a soccer decision, but a public health decision.

We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation on a daily basis.  We hope to be able to play all of the games once we get going even if we have to extend the season a little longer.

Please stay safe and follow the CDC guidelines.
