Over 50, 7v7 Soccer

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN 


LEAGUE DETAILS

  • Games start Sunday, September 11.
  • All games are on Sunday nights.
  • All players must be ages 50 and up.
  • Each team can have up to 3 players ages 45 and up. 
  • Each player has to register individually.  $85 per player.

7V7 GAME RULES

  • Official team rosters must be presented to referees before the start of the game.
  • Same color jersey and shinguards are required
  • The home team has to change in case of color conflict
  • 30 minutes halves.
  • 8 straight games, no playoffs.  Winners are decided based on points and goal differentials.
  • NO SLIDE TACKLE ALLOWED (yellow card if slide tackle)
    • A yellow card will result in a 5 minute sit out ONLY if the team has SUBS.
  • No offsides.
  • Clean slide tackle inside the area will result in indirect free kicks.
  • Kick-ins instead of throw-ins.  No goal on kick-ins UNLESS it is touched by another player.
  • Can score directly from kick-off.
  • Defenders MUST be 5 yards away from the spot of the ball during Kick-ins & Corner kicks.
  • Defenders MUST BE 8 yards away from the ball during FREE KICKS.
  • UNLIMITED SUBS DURING STOPPAGE & WHEN AUTHORIZED BY REFEREE.
  • MODIFIED FIFA RULES APPLY FOR KICKOFF, CORNERS, KICK INS, PKs.
    • DURING GOAL KICKS THE BALL DOES NOT HAVE TO LEAVE THE AREAS BEFORE IT CAN BE PLAYED BY A 2nd player from the TEAM TAKING THE GOAL KICK, however, players from the opposing team must remain outside the areas UNTIL IT HAS BEEN TOUCHED BY A SECOND PLAYER FROM THE TEAM TAKING THE GOAL KICK.
  • GK CAN ONLY SLIDE HANDS / ARMS FIRST TOWARDS THE BALL; OTHERWISE, IT WILL RESULT IN A YELLOW CARD FOR SLIDE TACKLE AND A PK IF INSIDE THE PENALTY OR GOAL AREAS.
  • PK as per FIFA MODIFIED RULES (10 yards from the goal line).
  • As a courtesy rule and good sportsmanship, FBASA in conjunction with all the soccer clubs in Houston has a goal differential limit of 8 goals for the men and women, or 10 goals for any type of small soccer sided games.  
  • Zero tolerance rule against violence, cussing or littering.  Teams found littering could face a hefty fine from the city.
  • Respect the players, referees, facilities, and spectators.
  • No re-schedules allowed unless there is a rain-out.
  • When inclement weather, no message from the club always means that the fields are open.  The club will only notify the players if and when the fields are closed
